WMIL is working with Wild for Taranaki to support the strategic overview for the development of community-driven ‘safe havens’ for seabirds and shorebirds across the Taranaki region.
This project encompasses a ten-year plan for the establishment and growth of a network of safe havens and addresses many aspects of restoration ecology. WMIL have helped deliver bird identification and monitoring workshops to the community, running both classroom and field components. WMIL is delighted to be able to provide support and expertise to dedicated conservation-minded groups in this region.
